Activly has one of those stories straight out of the startup playbook: a group of ambitious college students building their dream "garage-style" motivated by the desire of creating a better future for their generation. Activly is looking for and developing new ways to get people motivated to be active.
In Activly's own words:
"We want everyone to be able to exercise their bodies, no matter their demographics or experience with the gym"
When I joined Activly in their mission, an MVP was already under development. Initially, I took over the product management role, streamlining software development to create alignment between coders and Activly's goals, and ensuring the technology standards were on pair with Activly's needs.
Meanwhile the team had made huge progress in terms of partnerships and creating a pre-launch hype in their local market, however bigger steps had to be taken in order to create the overall product strategy for Activly.
As it happens with many startups who are gaining momentum, the team was concentrating the effort in operational challenges and short-term goals. Week after week my contribution focused on the bigger picture, including product growth startegy, monetization, revenue model and go-to-market plan.
We have supported Activly in many more domains along the way, including helping with product marketing startegy, pitching, accelerator programs, finding advisors and connecting them with resources and expertise to bring the startup to the next level.
